Double Duty Weekend: Strong Runs at Linda’s Speedway and Blanket Hill Speedway

Two Nights. Two Tracks. More Progress for the DSR Team.

This past weekend, DSR took on a doubleheader, racing on back-to-back nights at two very different Pennsylvania dirt tracks. Friday night sent us to Linda’s Speedway, while Saturday night brought us back to familiar territory at Blanket Hill Speedway.

Two nights of racing meant plenty of work in the garage, long hours on the road, and another opportunity to keep building on everything we’ve learned this season.

For a first-generation race team still writing its own story, weekends like these are exactly what it’s all about.

Friday Night at Linda’s SpeedwayProgress at a Track That Has Challenged Us

Friday marked our first trip back to Linda’s Speedway since competing in the Linda’s National last November.

Linda’s has never been an easy place for our team. The competition is tough every week, and finding the right setup has often been a challenge. Still, we unloaded knowing how many changes and improvements we’ve made to the 30s since our last visit.

After hot laps, we made a few adjustments to improve handling and changed the gearing to help gain additional speed down the straightaways.

The pill draw placed us in Heat Race 1, starting third.

The heat race was clean and competitive. While we slipped back one position, Dominic brought the 30s home in fourth place. It wasn’t exactly where we wanted to finish, but the car showed improvement, and we had a solid direction heading into the feature.

After making additional adjustments, we rolled out for the 20-lap A-Main from the seventh starting position.

Early Chaos, Steady Finish

The feature nearly got exciting for all the wrong reasons before the field even settled in.

As the green flag dropped, a driver behind us attempted an aggressive move that resulted in them climbing over our left rear tire and spinning out. Thankfully, Dominic kept his composure, maintained control of the car, and avoided what could have been a race-ending incident.

From there, the focus shifted to survival and consistency.

When the checkered flag flew, the 30s crossed the line in seventh place.

While every team shows up looking for a win, a seventh-place finish at Linda’s Speedway feels like a step forward for our team. This track has historically been one of our toughest challenges, and against a strong field of weekly competitors, bringing home a solid top-10 finish is something we can build on.

We left knowing we’re closer than we’ve ever been and excited to continue improving when we return.

Saturday Night at Blanket Hill SpeedwayFamiliar Ground

After getting home from Linda’s, the work wasn’t over.

The car was cleaned, maintenance was completed, and setup changes were made before heading to Blanket Hill Speedway the following day.

Blanket Hill is a place where we feel comfortable. It’s a track we’ve spent plenty of laps learning. Even so, every race night is different.

After hot laps, it was clear the 30s wasn’t handling exactly how we wanted, so we went to work making adjustments before race time.

A little luck landed on our side when the pill draw placed us on the pole for Heat Race 1.

Heat Race Win Sets the Tone

Starting from the front row gave us an opportunity we needed to capitalize on.

Dominic drove a smart, consistent race and held off the field for all eight laps to secure the heat race victory.

The win earned us a spot in the redraw, where Dominic pulled the number two pill, putting the 30s on the outside front row for the night’s feature event.

Charging for the Win

When the green flag waved for the feature, positions shuffled quickly. The 30s slipped back to third during the opening laps, but Dominic stayed patient and worked his way back into second place.

Once there, the challenge became balancing aggression with consistency.

Dominic pushed the car forward while defending against a talented group of cars battling behind him. Lap after lap, this race put on one of the night’s best battles.

When the checkered flag flew, the 30s crossed the finish line in second place.

A runner-up finish is another strong result for our growing team.

Congratulations to Shane Trout and the #23 team on their feature win!
