Rain in PA. Racing Out West.
Another rainy Saturday in Pennsylvania sent the DSR crew back west to US 24 Speedway for another night of dirt track racing action.
During hot laps, the 30s felt tighter than expected, and the team soon found the issue was a broken right front shock. Thankfully, the we were able to make the repair quickly and get the car back on track before Heat 1. After a couple small adjustments, the team felt confident they were heading in the right direction early in the night.
The pill draw had the 30s team starting P5 in the heat race. Not perfect, but good enough to battle for position early.
Fast Heat Race Action
The first green flag did not last long. A jump start from the front row quickly brought out a caution before the field could even settle in.
On the second attempt, the race finally got rolling. From there, the 8-lap heat race stayed green all the way to the checkered flag with fast-paced action around the entire track.
The 30s would slip back a couple spots and finish P7 in Heat 1.
After climbing out of the car, Dominic said the setup was not far off but the car still felt a little tight through the race. The team went back through notes from the previous trip to US24 and made the adjustments needed before the 25-lap A-Main.
Working Through Traffic in the A-Main
The P7 heat race finish lined the 30s up P15 out of 19 cars for the feature event. With a deep starting spot and a stacked field, the goal was simple. Stay clean, stay patient, and move forward.
Once the green flag dropped for the A-Main, cautions quickly became the story of the race. Six total cautions slowed the field throughout the night and forced drivers to constantly reset.
Dominic did a great job navigating traffic and avoiding trouble while steadily working the 30s toward the front. Every restart created another opportunity to gain positions, and he took advantage of them.
When the dust finally settled and the checkered flag flew, the 30s crossed the line with a strong P8 finish after starting P15.
A Hard-Earned Top 10
Of course, every race team wants to stand in victory lane. That is always the goal. But nights like this still matter.
Moving forward seven spots in a caution-filled feature shows growth, patience, and consistency from the entire DSR team. Every lap gives this first-generation team more experience and more confidence against tough competition.
A top-10 finish at US24 is something this crew can build on as the season continues.
Trackside Takeaways
- Progress in dirt track racing is not always measured by trophies alone. Sometimes it is measured by learning, adapting, and finding speed throughout the night.
- The 30s team stayed calm, made smart adjustments, and kept improving every time the car hit the track. That ability to keep moving forward is what builds strong race teams over the course of a season.
