Season Recap 2025: The Year Everything Changed for DSR

A first-generation race team’s breakthrough season full of growth, grit, and unforgettable moments.

a Season of Growth On and Off the Track

If there’s one word that describes DSR’s 2025 season, it’s this: growth. Not easy growth. Not perfect growth. But the kind that comes from late nights in the garage, starting over when things break, learning through every mistake, and celebrating every tiny win that took us one step further.

As a first-generation race team, nothing about this journey comes pre-packaged or handed down. Every setup, every decision, every weekend at the track has been a learning experience. And in 2025, all of that learning finally began to show on the track.

This was the year DSR found its rhythm, found its team, and found the confidence that comes from pushing through challenges instead of backing down from them. It was the year of first wins, new tracks, new partnerships, and proof that the underdog spirit isn’t just branding, it’s who we are.

A Breakthrough Year: First Wins, New Tracks & Meaningful Moments

The biggest highlight of 2025?
Dominic’s first — and second—career feature wins.

That first victory didn’t come easy. After facing mechanical issues with our Edge chassis mid-season, we made the bold choice to switch to a Hyper chassis.  This move was basically like starting over. New car, new setups, new feel, new challenges. But it paid off.

Dominic not only adapted, but he also grew. He found confidence behind the wheel, sharpened his racecraft, and proved that growth comes from stepping into the unknown.

This year also brought us to new tracks, each one stretching our abilities and expanding our racing knowledge:

  • Airport Speedway
  • Hamlin Raceway
  • Greenwood Valley Action Track

Each track came with its own personality, its own challenges, and its own set of lessons, and we walked away from each weekend stronger than we arrived.

One especially meaningful moment for our team was getting to be part of Darcy Taylor’s return to the track at age 75, driving our DSR Edge car. Seeing Darcy back behind the wheel reminded us why we love this sport and showed us the importance of supporting fellow racers, no matter their age or experience. Being part of his journey was an honor and something that inspired the team on and off the track.

The Partnership That Changed Our Season

2025 took a huge turn thanks to one person: Scott Scholl Racing.

At Blanket Hill Speedway, during a night when mechanical issues threatened to end our race early, Scott stepped in with an offer that changed everything.  He let Dominic finish the race in his car.

From that moment on, a partnership was born.

Scott joined DSR as a mentor, teammate, and friend. He traveled with us across new tracks, shared years of racing knowledge, and brought a level of support we could never have expected going into the season. His commitment to helping a first-generation team learn the craft and climb the ladder was invaluable.

The DSR family grew this year, and Scott is a major part of that.

From the DSR Crew

2025 wasn’t perfect, but perfect is never the goal.

The goal is progress. And this year, we made more progress than ever before.

From first wins to new tracks, from new partnerships to internal growth, and seeing a new friend get back behind the wheel, this season marked a turning point for our first-generation race team. And now, as we head into 2026, we carry every lesson, every setback, and every victory with us.

We’re proud of how far we’ve come… and even more excited for where we’re headed.

See you at the next one!
