Heat Race Victory at Blanket Hill Speedway for DSR

What a whirlwind week it’s been for the Dominic Slesinski Racing team, full of celebration, hustle, and high-speed action! After a busy few days packed with Jocie’s senior track banquet and her high school graduation (huge congrats, Jocie!), we rolled into Blanket Hill Speedway with a bit less prep time than usual, but plenty of determination and excitement.

Rolling the Dice on a New Setup

With little time to wrench during the week, we made some bold, last-minute changes to our 600cc Micro Sprint, finishing up the setup right at the track on race day. Sometimes you’ve got to take a leap to find speed, and that’s exactly what we did.

Things kicked off on a high note with a bit of luck on our side, an awesome pill draw placed us P1 for the heat race. Then came the curve ball: no hot laps. With a totally new setup and no chance to feel it out beforehand, nerves definitely kicked in. But if anyone can handle it, it’s Dominic.

Dominic’s First Heat Race Win!

Lined up on the pole, Dominic put all out on the track. Even with a field of fast drivers breathing down his neck, he stayed cool, hit his marks, and led every lap to capture his first-ever heat race win! While we’re still chasing that feature win, this was a major milestone and a huge confidence boost for the whole team

Feature Time: Fast Adjustments and Fierce Competition

With the feature lineup set and Dominic starting P1, we knew the track would change a lot from earlier in the night. We dialed in with some aggressive adjustments to stay competitive, hoping to keep the car fast on the evolving surface.

Dominic got a strong start and held the lead for a handful of laps, but the track conditions shifted quickly. He worked hard, experimenting with different lines to find more speed. He eventually settled into a groove and picked up the pace again, but time ran out before he could charge back to the front. We brought it home with a solid P4 finish, a result we’re proud of given the bold setup changes and limited prep.

Grateful for Support On and Off the Track

We couldn’t have done it without some amazing support this week. Huge thanks to Edge Chassis for their guidance on setup ideas, it made a big difference. Also, a massive shout-out to Blazavich Boys Racing for always being willing to help, even when we’re competitors on the track. It’s moments like these that remind us why we love racing, the community, the sportsmanship, and the shared passion for going fast. We’re walking away from this weekend feeling stronger and more motivated than ever.

See ya at the track!
