Racing Through the Storm: A Determined Night at Blanket Hill Speedway

Saturday night at Blanket Hill Speedway was a true test of resilience, both for drivers and the track crew. High winds and rain threatened to call off the night, but thanks to determined staff and a weather delay, the show went on. Even a power outage couldn’t keep the energy down for long.

Heat Race Highs and Lows

Dominic lined up in P4 for his Heat race. After a few laps he had surged into P2, showing some serious speed and potential. The car was dialed in, and all signs pointed to a solid run… until disaster struck. A broken chain abruptly ended his charge, resulting in a DNF. Thankfully, no significant damage was done, and we were able to get a new chain on the car. Big thanks to the awesome crew at Blanket Hill Speedway for allowing a couple of shakedown laps during intermission. That moment of track time was crucial to ensure the car was feature-ready.

From the Back to Battling Forward

Due to the Heat race DNF, Dominic started at the back of the field for the Feature race. As the green flag dropped, it became clear that the track conditions had shifted. Looking back, we probably could have made a few more adjustments to better suit the changing surface. During the Feature, several cautions came out, including one where Dominic made contact with another car. The incident bent the front axle, making the car a handful to drive. But that didn’t stop him. Despite the ill-handling machine, Dominic continued to fight and brought it home in P12.

The Bigger Picture: Progress Over Perfection

Was it the result we hoped for? No. But that’s racing. Every lap, every setback, and every hard-fought finish teaches us something new. Dominic races with heart, and that heart keeps us pushing forward, stronger and more determined each week. Whether it’s battling storms or bad luck, our racing journey is about perseverance.
