Shaking Off the Rust After a Two-Week Break
After two long weeks away from the track, we were itching to get back to racing. The break gave us some time to make a few adjustments to the car and regroup, but you never really know how things will go until you’re back out there. There’s nothing quite like the atmosphere on race night.
It’s always tough coming back after some time off. We rolled into the pits with excitement, knowing we’d have to shake off a bit of rust from being out of the seat. As the heats kicked off, we were itching to get back in the groove. The car felt good in practice, and as the night went on, our confidence kept building.
Family Support: The Heart of Our Team
One thing that made this race extra special was having family at the track. Racing can be a roller coaster, but knowing that family is in the stands makes a huge difference and they play a big role in keeping the motivation high.
Three-Wide Battle: Heart-Pounding Action
The feature race brought plenty of excitement. The track conditions were solid, and as the laps went by, we felt like we were gaining momentum. A car had contact with Dominic in the first few laps that led to Dominic spinning out. Then came the most intense moment of the night—halfway through the race, Dominic found himself locked in a three-wide battle with two other cars.
In a situation like that, there’s barely any room for error. Each car is fighting for space, but he trusted his instincts and kept his focus sharp. They were bumping and grinding through the corners, but it was all clean racing. It’s moments like these that remind us why we love this sport—the adrenaline is off the charts.
Dominic managed to hold his line and came out of the battle without any major contact, which felt like a victory in itself. That kind of close racing is what race fans love to see, and for drivers, it’s a true test of skill and composure.
Making Progress: Building Toward the Next Race
While we did not come away with a top finish, we could not be more proud of how Dominic handled the night. After two weeks off, the car performed solid, and we stayed competitive in the pack. Racing is all about learning and making incremental improvements each time out.
We’ve still got some work to do, but every race brings us new insights. We are continuously making adjustments to the car and eventually we will find the sweet spot.
We are looking forward to this weekend. Being back on track after a break has only fueled our fire, and we are ready to push harder than ever. Stay tuned—there’s more excitement to come!
