DSR Gets the Win at Blanket Hill Speedway

Following the Forecast

As weather forecasts shifted throughout the afternoon, plans changed right along with them. After rerouting three different times in an effort to avoid potential rainouts, the team finally pointed the hauler toward Blanket Hill Speedway and prepared for another night of dirt track racing.

Despite Mother Nature’s best efforts, the team arrived ready to compete.

No Hot Laps? No Problem.

One obstacle facing the DSR crew was the cancellation of a hot laps session. Without any practice time to evaluate track conditions, the team had to lean on past notes and a few educated guesses when setting up the 30s.

Fortunately, Blanket Hill is a track the team knows well. Detailed setup records gave the crew confidence that they would be close when the green flag dropped.

As it turned out, they were exactly where they needed to be.

Heat Race Success Sets the Tone

Dominic started third in Heat Race No. 1, and it didn’t take long for the 30s to show its speed.

Within the first few laps of the eight-lap heat race, Dominic worked his way to the front and never looked back. The result was a heat race victory and valuable momentum heading into the night’s feature event.

Back at the trailer, Dominic reported that the car felt strong. With only a few minor adjustments needed to account for the changing track conditions, the team felt confident heading into the feature..

Leading Every Lap to Victory Lane

The heat race win earned Dominic the pole position for the 25-lap feature.

From the drop of the green flag, it was clear the DSR team had the 30s dialed in.

Of course, dirt track racing rarely comes easy.

Six caution flags throughout the feature repeatedly erased Dominic’s advantage and forced him to execute restart after restart against a determined field of competitors. Each time, he remained composed, hit his marks, and maintained control of the race.

No matter what challenges came his way, Dominic never gave up the top spot.

When the checkered flag finally waved, the 30s had led all 25 laps, completing a dominant flag-to-flag performance and securing a feature victory for the DSR team.

Preparation Pays Off

Nights like this are a reminder that preparation matters.

From relying on detailed setup notes when hot laps were canceled to making the right adjustments throughout the evening, all played a role in putting the 30s in Victory Lane.

Trackside Takeaways

  • Detailed setup notes helped overcome the lack of hot laps.
  • Consistency wins races. Dominic executed every restart flawlessly and maintained control throughout the feature.
  • Leading every lap is never easy. A caution-filled race tested both driver and machine, but the DSR team answered every challenge.
