New Track. New Challenge. Same Underdog Mindset.
With rain washing out tracks across Pennsylvania, our team made a last-minute call. We loaded up and headed west to US24 Speedway in Logansport, Indiana for another first-time experience.
New track. Unknown setup. Tough field. Exactly the kind of challenge we’re built for.
We entered the Outlaw Non-Wing division with a stacked lineup in the 30s class. We knew right away this would not be easy. Learning a new surface while racing against experienced drivers is always a test.
Hot Laps Told the Story Early
From the moment we hit the track for hot laps, it was clear. The car needed work.
Grip was off. Balance was not there yet.
We went back to the pit and got to work on adjustments. Every small change mattered. On a new track, you are chasing feel and data at the same time.
Our pill draw put us starting in the rear of Heat 1 with no room for error.
Heat Race Battle Put Us in a Tough Spot
Dominic drove hard with no hesitation. He pushed every lap trying to move forward. But the field was fast and tight. We came up short of a transfer spot.
That meant one thing. Back to work and more changes. One more shot through the B-Main.
B-Main Drive. Clutch Performance When It Mattered.
We rolled off P7 in the B-Main, with the top six advancing.
When the green flag dropped, Dominic attacked early. He wasted no time gaining traction on the field.
The car was better. Not perfect. But good enough to fight.
By the checkered flag, we locked in a P5 finish and secured our spot in the A-Main.
That run kept the night alive.
A-Main Grind. Fast Track. Minimal Mistakes.
We made a few final adjustments as the track continued to change.
Dominic lined up P17 for the 25-lap A-Main.
The race went green with only one caution. It stayed fast and intense. Dominic stayed consistent and kept pushing forward every lap. No big mistakes. No backing down.
We crossed the line in P13. A solid result for our first time at US24.
Trackside Takeaways
- New tracks will test everything. Your setup. Your patience. Your ability to adapt.
- We learned a lot at US24 Speedway. The biggest takeaway was simple. Stay aggressive, but stay smart with adjustments.
- Every session matters. Every lap gives you information.
- And when the opportunity shows up, like it did in the B-Main, you have to capitalize.
Appreciation Lap
We want to give a huge thank you to the Fedco Speed Racing Team for their help and advice throughout the night. Having experienced racers in your corner makes a difference, especially at a new track.
US24 Speedway delivered an incredible facility and tough competition. This place pushed us and made us better.
We will be back.
